My old man has had code 89 up on the dash for some time now , most independent garages have ran diagnostics but can't pin point an issue so the code gets switched of but then it just keeps coming back. Update for you… code 89 appears to be the engine coolant thermostat heater control circuit. Between £40-£70 for a replacement on Car Parts 4 Less. I've changed spark plugs and it wasn't that even though other people online have said code 89 could be that.
